SENATOR DR IBRAHIM ABDULLAHI GOBIR who was present at 16th edition of induction ceremony / Award Conferment By Security and Forensic Studies NigeriaAdvanced peace and Reconciliation Centre of Nigeria /College Of Oil And Gas Exploration Technology Nigeria And School of Aviation and Aerospace Information Management Technology Nigeria Commemorating International Common Wealth Day on 10th of March 2025

Among Dignitaries That graced the occasion Dr. Gobir who was the chairman of the occasion  Noted the significance of Forensic science in Nigeria and beyond,

According to Him; FORENSIC SCIENCE has become an indispensable tool in today’s security landscape .From crime detection to intelligence gathering, the role of forensic PR actioners has expanded significantly in a world where threats are increasingly sophisticated ,from cybercrime to terrorism

He further asserted that Forensic expertise is vital for ensuring justice and safeguarding communities, specifically in Nigeria

Dr. Gobir explained reasons why forensic science is no longer optional but crucial for the strengthening of criminal justice system Making note of cases that once relied heavily on Eyewitness accounts and confession which can now be resolved with precision through forensic evidence, and involvement of skilled practitioners who can bridge the gap between science and justice ,which is why Forensic role is indispensible

He strongly encourage the Institute of security and forensic studies Nigeria to continue promoting capacity building in these areas, And to also continue investing in research, innovation, and training to ensure Nigeria’s forensic capabilities meet global standards

Furthermore; Dr. he Noted THE role of forensic practitioners strengthening national security

Stating that ; As someone who has witnessed the complex security challenges facing Nigeria,

HE believes Forensic science holds immense potential in addressing issues like insurgency, organized crime and corruption,

Stressing that properly deployed forensic tools can expose networks of criminals, track financial crimes and provide irrefutable evidence that strengthens prosecution efforts,

He explained that the role of forensic practitioners is not just about solving crimes but also ensuring justice prevails, preventing wrongful convictions and resorting public trust in institutions

TO the inductees he Advised that from this day Marks a significant milestone journey.as they join the ranks of distinguished forensic experts ,they inherit a responsibility of that extends beyond technical expertise. Integrity, diligence, and ethical conduct must guide their practice ,they must remember forensics science is not about evidence its about truth, and truth must never be compromised.

In conclusion He challenge All policy makers, practitioners and institutions to prioritize forensic development as a core component of justice and security system, collaboration between law enforcement  agencies, academic  institutions and private sectors experts is essential to ensure that Nigeria becomes at the top in forensic excellence across  Africa
