*Institute of Security and Forensic Studies Nigeria Announces 18th Induction and International Conference Scheduled for December 17, 2025
The Institute of Security and Forensic Studies Nigeria (ISFSN) has announced that its 18th Induction and International Conference will take place on 17th December 2025 at the prestigious National Merit Award House, Maitama, Abuja, commencing promptly at 9:00 a.m.
The Director General of the Institute, Ambassador Dr. Morgan Okocha, described this year's gathering as an international annual summit and General Assembly for forensic practitioners, noting that the 2025 edition promises to be remarkable, transformative, and life-changing for all participants.
Dr. Okocha emphasized that prospective inductees from the Institute’s sister institutions are expected to attend, including:
Advanced and peace Reconciliation Centre of Nigeria
College of Detective and Legal Investigation
College of Gas and Oil Exploration Technology
School of Aviation Studies
He added that the annual event serves as a crucial convergence point for both old and new members across Nigeria and abroad who have undergone the Institute’s training and are committed to expanding the boundaries of professionalism in their respective fields.
Reiterating the need for discipline, the DG stressed that all participants must be seated by 9:00 a.m. sharp, cautioning unequivocally against the habit of “African time.”
Speaking on the essence of the conference, Dr. Okocha noted that it is designed to empower inductees, deepen professional ethics, and strengthen capacity in security, intelligence, forensic science, investigative studies, and other related domains. Newly admitted members will also take the Oath of Office and Allegiance, reaffirming their commitment to integrity, diligence, and excellence.
Dr. Okocha further announced that several sister institutes, including the Institute of Advanced Peace and Reconciliation Studies and the College of Oil and Exploration Studies, will partner in hosting this year’s event—reflecting a collective pursuit of interdisciplinary impact and continental collaboration.
This year's conference will feature high-profile speakers and national security experts, including:
Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, who will deliver a keynote lecture on Cyber Security, focusing on new strategies for tracking online activities and strengthening digital safety architecture.
Barrister Aliyu Bagudu Abubakar, the Director General of the Legal Aid Council of Nigeria, who will speak on “The Effects of War in the African Region,” addressing legal, humanitarian, and security implications of conflict across the continent.
The DG affirmed that the Institute remains committed to shaping a knowledge-driven, ethically grounded, and professionally equipped community capable of addressing modern security and forensic challenges.
